Tara Bratsas

Trainee Counsellor

"At the heart of being human is a longing to be understood — by others, and perhaps most deeply, by ourselves."

In her work as a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, Tara offers a space where you can come as you are. A space to pause, to breathe, and to make sense of what it means to be you, with all your complexity, emotion, and experience.

Therapy, as Tara sees it, is not about fixing what’s broken, but about understanding what’s been hidden, silenced, or left unheard. It’s a space for curiosity, honesty, and gentle exploration, where we can begin to trace the threads of your story and see how they weave through your present life.

Tara works relationally, which means the connection is an important part of the process. Tara says, 'together, we’ll pay attention to what unfolds in the room, how you feel, what arises, and what it might reveal about how you relate to yourself and others'. This shared awareness can open the door to new ways of being, relating, and understanding yourself.

Tara's approach draws from different therapeutic traditions, but at its core is a belief in your capacity to grow and heal when met with empathy and authenticity. Tara welcomes people from all walks of life and celebrates the richness of our differences, our identities, backgrounds, and ways of experiencing the world.

You might come to therapy feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure of what you need. That’s okay. Together, we can begin to listen for the quiet parts, the ones that want to be seen, known, and cared for.

Tara says, 'over time, my hope is that therapy becomes a grounding place for you, somewhere you can reconnect with yourself, find steadiness in uncertainty, and move toward a life that feels more honest, whole, and nurturing.
