What is Supervision?
Clinical supervision is an essential, structured and collaborative process in which a trained and experienced supervisor supports another professional such a therapist or trainee therapist / teacher / wellbeing support / professor / nurse in their professional practice. Supervision promotes reflective practice and is essential for ensuring ethical, competent and effective client care while fostering the professional’s development and personal growth.
Supervision has core functions such as:
Support and development, skill enhancement, person development, ethical and professional guidance, case review and consultation, emotional support, reflective practice, improving competence and confidence, ensuring client welfare, preventing burnout, promoting ethical practice.
Individual supervision
Involves one to one sessions between a professional and a supervisor. This format allows for personalised feedback, tailored guidance and in-depth cased discussion.
Group supervision
A shared space where professionals can collectively discuss cases and learn from each other with a supervisor. This format provides a sense of community, opportunities for peer learning and diverse perspectives on clinical work.
Lower cost therapy
The Wellbeing Garden offers lower cost therapy to all members of our community. When requested, sessions with a trainee counsellor will cost £35.
