What do we fear the most?
Fear of the unknown? Fear of lonelienss? Fear of rejection, or judgement? Fear of pain and suffering? Fear of a lack of control? Fear of death? Fear of failure? What is our inner fear that stops us from snatching opportunities? Life can offer us opportunities, chances, open doors, but if we don't receive it, it remains only as an offering. Does it take faith to receive what we are being offered? Do we believe we are good enough? What is the image that we hold of ourselves? If we don't have a good image of ourselves, it will affect how we see the world and us in it.
Are we truly afraid of losing, or are we actually afraid of winning? If we are afraid of winning, we will self-sabbotage that which we are trying to achieve. If we are afraid of winning, we will talk people out of loving us, if we are afraid of winning, we will mess our job up, if we are afraid of winning, we will irritate others and drive them away and wonder why we are alone, if we are afraid of winning, we will not generate wealth and lose our house because we don't feel worthy of it. If we are afraid we cannot see beyond ourselves to climb into the next dimension. Marianne Williamson put it this way...
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourelves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles".
There is something in front of you that is worth the battle. What are you hiding? What are your gifts, dreams, resources, creativity? We are not those who shrink back. Is this the time to break from your routine? To get out of debt, to go for that promotion, to reach for connection. Every voice that has said 'this cannot change' is lying. I don't know what your 'this' is, but you do. Don't be afraid. Maybe this is your time.
