Healing outdoors
In a world that is incredibly fast-paced, digital and disconnected, many are rediscovering what ancient traditions have always known - nature heals. Spending time in nature can be deeply therapeutic, whether you are walking in the woods, sitting under a tree, or simply breathing in the fresh air in a meadow filled with wild flowers. The natural world seems to 'hold us' in ways that other therapies cannot. The earth itself is calming, grounding and inspiring.
Therapy in nature is not just about being outdoors, it is being mindful of and engaging with the environment that enhances emotional, psychological and physical healing.
But don’t take my word for it.
A growing body of research supports what many of us feel intuitively after a walk in the park - that nature is good for us.
Here’s some science behind it:
Reduction of stress and anxiety
Boosts mood and self-esteem
Improves focus and cognition
Encourages mindfulness
And anyone can benefit!!
And you don’t need a therapist to start benefitting from nature - simply start a daily nature walk, sit and spot what you see and listen to what you can hear, write your journal in nature or do some gardening.
If you’re looking for a therapist and a private, confidential outdoor space where nature can remind you that healing is a return to connection with yourself, others and the world around you, we’d love to hear from you.
